The 2-Second Headline Test

Wish I did this sooner

Yo,

I just fixed a client's headline and their conversions jumped 37%.

No fancy tech.
No AI tools.

Just a surprisingly simple test that kills bad headlines instantly.

Here's how I've been doing it:

  1. Put your headline on screen (or show a printed version)

  2. Let someone see it for exactly 2 seconds

  3. Hide it and ask: "What does this product or service do?"

  4. If they can't answer clearly, your headline fails

Most headlines fail this test miserably. They're either too clever, too vague, or stuffed with buzzwords that mean nothing to real humans.

Usually, the best headlines just tell people exactly what you do and who it's for.

Simple example:

A SaaS client changed their headline from "Transforming Customer Experiences Through Intelligent Automation" to "Customer Support Software that Solves Tickets 2x Faster."

Guess which one passed the 2-second test?

Now go apply this to your headlines!

Convert and prosper,
Blake
