Floating helpers, story before sell, and legit benefits
Your 3 marketing gems for the week
Hey,
My daughter’s graduating kindergarten today so I’d better write and schedule this one quick.
Below are 3 ideas on landing pages, copy, and content in less than 2 minutes…
But first a quick word from our sponsor!
Join the Essential Community For Marketers
Stay ahead of the curve and join the thousands of marketers shaping the future of marketing with the American Marketing Association. Members get access to an abundance of resources, on-demand courses, and the most essential community in marketing.
1) Superpower
Focus: Floating helpers
What’s good: Lots to like about this page, but this section is my favorite. My eyes know exactly where to look, and yet there’s a good amount of context here — it never feels too cramped. The floating images around the text actually show my something about the project. Hurray for non-doodle imagery!
Focus: Story before sell
What’s good: Instant gratification is easy. Stories are hard. The normal way you see “selling” on the internet is just, well, a sales pitch. Jon leads with stories: a story about you, a story about him, a story about the course, etc. It’s still selling, but the setup isn’t lazy. And it works.
P.S. on this one, the course is closed now so you won’t see the same page :)
3) Textla
Focus: Legit benefits
What’s good: Most “benefits” copy is just feature copy in disguise. And honestly, most companies avoid using “price” as a benefit these days out of fear of being seen as a commodity. Textla just lays it out clearly (which I love). They basically say:
“Look, it’s cheaper and here’s by how much. It’s easy to use and here’s why. People like it and here’s proof.”
Powerful simplicity.
Hope you found a gem here.
