Passive aggressive homepage

2 mins to fix fake “helpful” copy

Hey,

There’s a certain kind of copy I hate.

The kind that pretends to be helpful.
The kind that nods along with the user…

While quietly shoving them toward a button they’re not ready to click.

You’ve seen it:

“Your growth is our mission.”
“We help you unlock potential.”
“Let’s transform the way you work.”

Sounds supportive. Actually says nothing.

Worse, it gaslights the reader.

Because what that copy is really saying is:

“I don’t know what you do, or what you need. But here’s a vague compliment and a CTA anyway.”

That’s not helpful. That’s passive-aggressive.

It’s like someone offering you directions while refusing to name the destination.

Good copy doesn’t flatter.
It doesn’t pressure.
It doesn’t dance around the point.

It shows up like a friend who knows exactly where you’re stuck, sits next to you, and says:

“I get it. You’re here. You want to be there. Let me show you.”
